We’re enabling a closed-loop battery economy for a net-zero future
Powering the Battery Future
As the world transitions from gas-powered vehicles to electrification and renewable energy, the demand for lithium-ion batteries and energy storage is growing at an unprecedented pace. This global shift is essential to cutting emissions and achieving net-zero goals—but it also brings new challenges. By 2030, over 1.6 million tonnes of end-of-life batteries and related scrap materials will require responsible recycling, while the need for scalable, high-performance Energy Storage Systems (ESS) will surge across industries and grids. At SBM TECH LTD., we’re meeting both challenges head-on—with advanced battery recycling technology and smart, modular ESS solutions that drive sustainability, efficiency, and circular innovation.
Bridging the gap
In order to truly achieve our emission targets for transportation and energy, we need to reduce our reliance on mining and raw material extraction while ensuring sustainable end-of-life management for both electric vehicle batteries and large-scale energy storage systems. However, North America currently lacks the infrastructure required to support this transition at scale—creating a critical gap in the clean energy supply chain.
Our mission is to bridge this gap with cutting-edge hydrometallurgical recycling and advanced Energy Storage System (ESS) solutions. By recovering up to 98% of valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries and converting them into ready-to-use raw materials, we provide a sustainable, domestic source for new battery production. At the same time, our ESS technologies enable efficient, resilient, and renewable-powered energy systems—advancing a circular, low-carbon future.
Our team is dedicated to building a future we can all be proud of.
